  2024-06-13

Salvia, the largest genus in the family Lamiaceae, comprises over 900 species that are distributed globally [14], [15], [16]. The genus Salvia has been assessed in many studies because it is a rich source of polyphenol compounds, of which more than 160 have been isolated from plants in the genus, so

COPD is almost unheard of in individuals less than 40 years of age (even among heavy smokers), 1 in 10 lifetime never-smokers and 1 in 3 develop COPD by age 75 [26], unquestionably, COPD is an age-related disorder. This notion of accelerated ageing of COPD is supported by animal models, which demons

Although the role of mossy fiber sprouting in epileptogenesis has been challenged (Elmer et al., 1997, Nissinen et al., 2001), in addition to astrogliosis, mossy fiber sprouting is one of the characteristic histopathological findings in TLE (Kharatishvili et al., 2006, Pitkanen et al., 2007, Represa

Conclusion Twenty compounds with 3,5-dinitrobenzoate scaffold were synthesized and evaluated using cell-free and HWB assays for their 5-LOX inhibition activities. Compared to the parent compound, six compounds show significantly increased enzyme inhibition activities. The best compound, 3-tolyl 3,5

  2024-06-12

Inactivation of the proton pump comes with luminal alkalinization of the targeted vesicles such as lysosomes (Fig. 2b). Lysosome pH can also be raised stoichiometrically by addition of a membrane-permeable weak Walrycin B such as methylamine or chloroquine which accumulates in its protonated, non-m

Human 15-lipoxygenase exists in two forms, named 15-LOX-1 (also named 12/15-LOX, 15-LO-1) and 15-LOX-2. Several reports indicate that 15-LOX-1 has a pathophysiological role in respiratory inflammatory diseases, in particular asthma. Increased activity of 15-LOX-1 is displayed in the respiratory trac

  2024-06-12

Apelin is a bioactive peptide and endogenous ligand for the APJ receptor (APLNR), a member of the G protein coupled receptor family that shares a similar sequence as the angiotensin type-1 receptor (AT1) [5]. Early studies demonstrated that the apelin/APLNR receptor axis plays a significant role in

  2024-06-12

It is worth noting that in S. cerevisiae, the control of two cell-cycle checkpoints requiring Mcm1 involves two very different mechanisms. At the G1/S transition, Mcm1 transactivation activity is inhibited by Yox1 and Yhp1 repressors, whose expression is periodically regulated through the cell cycle
